Common tasks

  • image format converter
  • PNG to JPEG
  • JPEG to WebP
  • convert images locally

Quick answer

Convert one browser-readable image to PNG, JPEG or WebP without changing its pixel dimensions. Choose JPEG or WebP quality, compare file sizes, then download the result. JPEG replaces transparent areas with white; PNG and WebP can retain transparency.

How to use

  1. 1. Choose the source imageSelect an image from your device and check the original preview. The browser must be able to decode the file.
  2. 2. Choose output settingsSelect PNG for lossless output or JPEG/WebP with quality from 0.10 to 1.00. This tool keeps the original width and height.
  3. 3. Convert and comparePress Convert, inspect the result and file size, then download. Convert again after changing format or quality.

Examples

Transparent logo to JPEG

Input
800 × 600 transparent PNG → JPEG, quality 0.92
Output
800 × 600 JPEG with a white background

Photo to WebP

Input
2400 × 1600 JPEG → WebP, quality 0.80
Output
2400 × 1600 WebP

Output size depends on image content and the browser encoder; a smaller file is not guaranteed.

Common use cases

  • Prepare a JPEG for a form that does not accept PNG
  • Keep a transparent logo as PNG
  • Compare WebP and JPEG for a website photo

Edge cases

  • The quality slider applies to JPEG and WebP, not PNG. Re-encoding does not restore detail lost in a source image.
  • Canvas output is a still image: animation and embedded metadata are not preserved.
  • Use the resize tool to change dimensions. Very large or unsupported files may fail to load or export.

Features

  • Convert images to PNG, JPEG, or WebP
  • Adjustable quality for JPEG and WebP
  • Compare original and converted file sizes
  • Runs entirely in the browser

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion happens locally in your browser using Canvas.
Why is the JPEG larger than the PNG?
PNG is lossless and can be smaller for flat graphics; lower the quality slider for smaller JPEG or WebP files.
Does WebP work in every browser?
Available output formats depend on your browser encoder. If WebP is unsupported, choose PNG or JPEG.
